Recommended Daily Intake of Fruits and Vegetables

Do you know how much fruits and vegetables u should be eating every day? Most of us don’t eat the amount recommended for total nutrition. We want to educate you on the amount of fruits and vegetables you should be eating every day and week. You can get all this nutrition easily by using the Power Juicer to make fresh juices and  other recipes. Here is a table of the recommended daily intakes.

Children
2-3 years old: 1 cup vegetables, 1 cup fruits
4-8 years old: 1 ½ cups vegetables, 1 – 1 ½ cups fruits

Girls
9-13 years old: 2 cups vegetables, 1 ½ cups fruits
14-18 years old: 2 ½ cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits

Boys
9-13 years old: 2 ½ cups vegetables, 1 ½ cups fruits
14-18 years old: 3 cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits

Women
19-30 years old: 2 ½ cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits
31-50 years old: 2 ½ cups vegetables, 1 ½ cups fruits
51 + years old: 2 cups vegetables, 1 ½ cups fruits

Men
19-30 years old: 3 cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits
31-50 years old: 3 cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits
51 + years old: 2 ½ cups vegetables, 2 cups fruits

Additionally, it is recommended to eat a certain amount of different vegetables weekly. Here is the recommended weekly intake of vegetables.

Children
2 -3 years old: 1 cup dark green vegetables, ½ cup orange vegetables, ½ cup dry beans and peas, 1 ½ cups starchy vegetables, 4 cups other vegetables
4 -8 years old: 1 ½ cups dark green vegetables, 1 cup orange vegetables, 1 cup dry beans and peas, 2 ½ cups starchy vegetables, 4 ½ cups other vegetables

Girls
9-13 years old: 2 cups dark green vegetables, 1 ½ cups orange vegetables, 2 ½ cups dry beans and peas, 2 ½ cups starchy vegetables, 5 ½ cups other vegetables
14-18 years old: 3 cups dark green vegetables, 2 cups orange vegetables, 3 cups dry beans and peas, 3 cups starchy vegetables, 6 ½ cups other vegetables
